Carvers Solicitors became part of the long established Wilkes Partnership group of solicitors and wanted to update their brand to reflect the new relationship. From staff survey feedback and discussions with the marketing team, key points in the brief were to create a visual link to Wilkes and to appeal to a “high street” audience.
I worked on a number of options to make the Wilkes link including using the ribbon-effect of the letter ‘C’. Staff felt strongly that they liked the use of Wilkes’ brand colours and a sans serif typeface. The final choice of logo was the least expected from me as it was the most daring and not the closest interpretation of the brief! The design of the disk element stemmed from the idea of the close working relationship between client and professional: the circle is complete because the black and white elements are in unison.
